Eleven months ago I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and cholesterol and was a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed blood pressure medicine and continued to monitor my cholesterol and blood sugar levels before she decided to put me on more prescriptions. I did not fill my blood pressure medicine: instead I decided to take control and try to change it with diet and exercise. I was already a member of Club Northwest but I needed more, so I joined the new well. I increased my work out by using the circuit 2-4 times a week. In addition, I learned how to eat healthy and relax by meditation and using the tranquility room. I have lost 30 pounds and still continue to loose at a safe, healthy pace. I haven’t gained ANY of it back. My cholesterol level, blood sugar and blood pressure are at healthy levels again. My doctor says “keep it up!” She highly recommends the new well program and so do I! I also can keep up with my husband when hiking or doing yard work. I no longer have back, foot or hip pain. I feel great and I’ll keep going until I meet my final goal then maintain it with my new lifestyle.
