September 2015 I had lost 70lbs. but I had to quit working and go on disability because of two major health problems. In addition to diabetes, I have arthritics from the tip of my toes to the base of my neck. This causes me lots of pain and limits my physical abilities. I also have Lupus; Lupus is an autoimmune disease which means your body fights against itself. When I have a flare up, I experience fatigue, joint and muscle pain. I wake up hurting so bad, it even hurts to be touched! So I just go to my chair, take pain medicine, and sleep most of the day. There is nothing doctors can do for either of these except prescribe pain medication. They recommend exercise and a very healthy diet – but you have to do it on your own. September 2016 I had gained back 40 lbs. I knew I had to make a decision to get up and out of my chair and do something about my health or I would eventually end up in a wheel chair. I had been to the new well about two months prior and learned about what they had to offer. They offer a 30-minute circuit workout (which if I can do, anyone can), along with a very healthy diet program. So I called and made an appointment at which time I joined. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Some days it is all I can do to get dressed and drive to the new well, but as soon as I walk through the door I am greeted with a beautiful smile and a, “Hi Sue how are you doing today?”. That right there is a real pick-me-up. Then, if I have a visit, it is always encouraging even if I have not lost weight or have had struggles with the diet. They always have helpful suggestions. Sometimes, I just work out, after my work out I physically feel so much better and am energized. I have set a goal for myself to go every day they are open – so far I have done that! When I leave the new well, I feel like a different person than when I got there. I have a long way to go to reach my weight loss goal; with the smiles, encouragement, diet plan, classes, and activities that the ladies of the new well offer, I know I will make it! Thanks Ladies!
